As the “Keepers of the Canyon,” our group has come together to share the story of the Big Thompson Canyon—affectionately known as “The Big T.” Just as the river carved the canyon, its rich history has been shaped by a resilient community and close ties to Estes Park, Loveland, and Rocky Mountain National Park. From historic floods and fires to mountain wildlife and the people who call this canyon home, every piece contributes to its remarkable legacy. Become a “Keeper of the Canyon” by joining the BTCHS (Big Thompson Canyon Historical Society) and learning – or sharing this remarkable story.
